Do you feel that? It’s change, and it’s on it’s way to Las Vegas. Will you be there to meet it?! I sincerely hope you will.

I’ve been thinking about The Breathe Intensive so much over the last few weeks since I posted information regarding the Las Vegas intensive coming in February. I’ve finally come to a conclusion!

I’m instituting a HUGE overhaul to the current model.

This isn’t a sales technique. This is simply the RIGHT thing to do. I want MORE people to be able to access this material, I want MORE people to have the opportunity to experience the life changing effects of coming to this workshop and putting in the work it requires.

The impact of this content should be felt deep and wide, and THIS is the way to do it.

Breathe is coming to Vegas, and just in time for WPPI!

What is Breathe?

Breathe is an intensive designed to empower wives and/or moms with the tools they need to achieve success in business while also achieving balance, order, harmony, and success on the home front. 2012 is your year to achieve your professional goals without sacrificing your personal and family values!

After 2 sold out pilot workshops in 2011, I’ve modified the format and lengthened the time slot by 2 full hours! I can’t wait to launch the new and improved workshop format in Las Vegas on February 18th!

Absolutely not. None of the material covered in the workshop is industry specific.

The story of “happily ever after” is a very true myth. . . in every sense of the blatant oxymoron.

This past week, Richie and I had a very significant paradigm shift as it relates to a certain area of our marriage. It was SO eye opening that I simply had to share my thoughts on the matter, if for no other reason than so as not to forget them myself. . .

To be obnoxiously vague: for the last 5 years, Richie and I have struggled to see eye to eye on a certain topic in our lives together. It’s a fairly serious issue, and our inability to navigate it in unity has caused each of us tremendous frustration. It has unwittingly complicated many discussions and has very much clouded our ability to work through certain other, very normal, day to day occurrences in our lives. No fun, at all.

A few days ago, we were dancing around the issue (as we had a tendency to do, so as to avoid unnecessary argument) when Richie happened to explain something to me in a way he’d never done before. They were a few simple words: “You know what I’m working towards.” BAM! Those words hit me like lightening and completely changed my paradigm. Suddenly we were a team. Suddenly we were working together toward something very real, and RIDICULOUSLY important to both of us. In those 6 words, we found unity, we found commitment, we found focus, we found rest.

We had discovered the ability to walk together through this “thing”, completely trusting one another’s intentions and being ABSOLUTELY grateful for each other’s company.

One of the most important things we discuss at The Breathe Intensive, is the necessity of clearly defined expectations and roles between husband and wife. These roles/goals will most definitely differ from one family to the next, but their presence is essential to the overall happiness and success of each and every family on the planet.

This week, I took my own advice, and got on the same page as the man I love. It has made all the difference.

Choosing felt completely impossible. Utterly so. THANK YOU so very, very, VERY much to all who entered. Reading your words always brings with it a heavy dose of humility.

The selection process, while daunting, also made me SO excited for the Phoenix intensive!! Every comment I read, reminded me why this workshop is so incredibly important and the remarkable difference it makes in the lives of families everywhere (mine as much as any)! Kris: To be completely honest. #1 I need you to be some fresh water through my gills. I feel like a shark who has stopped swimming. We are on our second move in a year (today we pick up the moving truck...huzzah!) I was pregnant last time and now my fourth is only four months old. Fortunately, that has never once had an impact on my marriage or beautiful family. We know what is important to us. We have gone weeks without electricity, gas, food, even sold furniture. Cassie Foster: Natalie...Even though I've never met you, you are one of my heroes! These last 6 months have been so out of control that I would love the opportunity to breathe. In the last 6 months my husband was laid off, started a new job, my daughter was diagnosed with autism, and I have felt very strongly that I need to do something to help others in my situation. My husband and I have decided we want to open a center for children with autism and their families. There is nothing in Northern Utah that is for the whole family of an autistic child. I don't know how to balance my life right now. Between taking care of my daughter, her doctors appointments, trying to figure out how to pay for all of them, my husbands job, doing photography, and trying to figure out how and where to do this center that I feel is one of my callings in the life. Heidi Marshall: Natalie, for the first time since I 'met' you & started reading about these absolutely amazing Breathe Intensives... I actually feel like I'm ready for this. My photography business has been s.l.o.w.l.y coming together over the last several years, but all of a sudden it's taking off like crazy & I find myself struggling to keep it all together. I have 4 boys . . . ages 11, 8, 5 & 19 months who (as you very well know) keep me on my toes as it is with all the normal stuff that comes with being a mom of boys. I've been taking a good hard look at my schedule for the next few months & I'm actually booked up through September! I have 10 clients on my 'to-do' list that I still need to finish up proofs, print orders, custom printed books, etc. and that list is growing faster than I can keep up with! Seems like for every ONE client I finish up with, I'm adding 3 more. My house is a wreck, I'm behind on laundry, dishes & general upkeep, my photo gear is still in my living room from a month ago since I haven't had 'time' to put it all away before the next session. I'm doing pictures for an entire dance studio on Saturday (which I've never done before) that I'm trying to prepare for, as well as trying to whittle down my list, and I just realized it's Mother's Day coming up so I need to take time out for my Mom & it also dawned on me that it truly IS the 2nd Sunday of the month so I have an RS lesson to prepare! I've tried taking time out for myself to get a massage, trip to the hair salon, and some therapeutic shopping, but that just takes time AWAY from all the other things I need to focus on. I KNOW I can handle all of this, and I WANT to! But I need help figuring out exactly how to juggle it all. I don't feel like I neglect my family (just the house), but I just can't BREATHE sometimes!! Just since I started trying to type this, I've had to change a poopy diaper, listen to my 5 year old read 2 books to me so he could earn his Wii time, help my 10 year old (who is home sick today) with a few things in his Webelos book, kiss an owie, and now my little guy is crying, pulling on my arm & trying to close my keyboard tray. :0( I absolutely LOVE what I do . . . both being a Mom & being a photographer, but I SO badly want to be amazing at BOTH & not feel like I'm sacrificing one for the other so often. I finally have the confidence in my talent & abilities as a photographer (although I still have a long way to go before I get to where I want to be), but I don't want my family to suffer because of my business success. PLEASE Natalie . . . I'm am willing to do what it takes . . . I just don't know how. I am begging you to help me . . . It would absolutely mean the world to me. Jeremy Peterson: As a husband I couldn't be more proud of the the mother, wife, and inspiration my wife has become. If it weren't for her photography we would not have our most cherished memories of our son Payton who passed on to the eternal world 6 years ago. I have heard my wife talk about you and the inspiration you have been to her on many occasions and she would be greatly honored to attend your Breathe Intensive in Phoenix. Obviously I am biased but there is truly no one more deserving then my wife Amanda. Just this past week my wife had one of her external hard drives crash that erased part of the first year of our one year old little daughters life. She's usually really good at backing files up in two places but there were quite a few that she hadn't done yet. It has been quite the ordeal as you can imagine, but each day she puts one foot in front of the other and strives to be the best mother, wife, photographer and friend to everyone. With three little one's at home and dealing with the day to day grind she says to me all the time that she wishes she could just figure out how to balance everything better. I have a family, a wonderful hard-working husband and three young children, and I have my mind and my heart, which I write on my blog. I want that blog to work for me. I know I can do it. I know I have something to say and I know people want to hear it. I just need to know how to make it happen. I've been putting in the work there consistently for 6 months, and so far I have gotten a few wonderful friendships out of it but I am ready to take it to the next level. I just have no clue how. The main reasons for this were one three year old, one six year old and one 40 year old. Last night I was in bed sobbing as I realized that while I had run my errands and accomplished all my work for the day, I hadn't done anything of lasting consequence. I hadn't read a book to a child (I have 5), dinner was a complete fail, bedtime was thoroughly lacking in love. It's not even like I'm new to this. My oldest turns 11 today, and my business is celebrating 10 years this year. But balance is ever more elusive. Speaking of which, I've got to go, I have a birthday breakfast to make before I get to work this morning! BTW, loving how many mompreneurs and potential mompreneurs there are here in the valley. Angela Salazar: I wanted to create and use my artistic talents, do something for myself and make people smile while doing it (and possibly make a little side money too). So I bought a camera, equipment, studied and practiced and studied and practiced...over and over. And now I am doing it! People actually come to ME wanting their special moments captured! But why do I feel guilty everytime I sit down to work on my business? Lately I've been feeling like I will never be able to truly be a photographer, the way I'd love to be, and be the mother I've always wanted to be as well! It's just not possible! Or is it? I'd love to learn your strategies, know how people do it, how YOU do it! Is it really possible to be freed from guilt as a mother and entrepenuer? Sharon Johnson: When life is rough the typical advice is to take it day one day at a time. I have a gorgeous happy baby, supportive husband, a roof over my head, and my health... and for reasons that feel just out of reach beyond my fingers tips, I can't manage to even take it one day at a time right now. My father used to tell me "take it day to day and if you can't, take it hour to hour, min by min, or breathe by breathe. Every time I here about your Workshop, I think of me cuddled in his lap telling me to "just breathe." I KNOW I am meant to change this world. I KNOW I will be AMAZING, that I will get through this lull, and that I will be HAPPY... more importantly I know who I need and so desperately want to become.... but....right now... I just don't know how to do all of that. I would love to meet up with you all in Phoenix as I know I will get that kick in the heart, head, spirit and kick in the butt I am anxiously looking for. Kathryn: By the time I sat down in the car today to drive my 4 girls to the library, I found myself having to focus my breathing to calm that racing heart of mine. Weren't these Lamaze breaths supposed to be for labor? Did labor really end? The last time I gave birth was nearly 2 years ago, but since having 2 sets of twins in 3 years, I feel like I'm constantly trying to keep afloat in a sea of laundry, needy arms, preschool lessons, blogging to-do's, heads of hair to be kept up, meals to be made...I could keep going, but I think everyone knows what I mean. I don't think I'm much different than the next mom. It seems we are all working each day to be our best, but sometimes I just feel like I'm spinning my wheels. Mackenzie: I had to breathe and breathe again before I wrote down my few thoughts. I am mom and step mom. Being a stepmom is world I never thought I would enter into. However, I would not trade it for anything. Because of this I have to work full-time, and still be a mother, with the latter title being the only one I truly want. I don't have the luxury of practicing as much as I would love to. I have to find snippets of time with my kids because of me having to work. I feel like I see my kids in passing at times (mostly my step son because we share custody) because I have to be a full-time mom and work outside the home. It is a struggle to balance and sometimes I ache for them even though it was minutes ago when I saw them. I would love a chance to come and refocus, get strength from other amazing and talented people. To learn from so many whose skills are far superior t mine would be a blessing. I want to innately understand and know my camera, lighting, etc. so I can focus on catching the memories and times I have with my children (and others I am privileged to shoot) and catch the essence and character that makes them special. I need to grow. I need to learn. I need to make a change in my life to be there for my children's life. My goal is to a stay-at-home mom, yet still be able to have a creative outlet for me. On days like today when I have a house to clean, places to go, and homework to complete (all as I question my abilities as a parent),the thought of starting a business terrifies me. It terrifies me because I feel that in order to have a business I must give up something in return...time with my kids, housework, balance in my life.
