My goal.

I want to start a revolution.

My goal with this workshop is to dramatically alter the systems with which women run their businesses, families and their homes. I’m calling for a systematic rework that allows for mothers to live their dreams, share their talents, reach their lofty goals and TAP THEIR CREATIVE POTENTIAL, while simultaneously excelling in home and family life.

My goal with Breathe is not to sell out. It’s not to fill a room with as many bodies as the Fire Marshall can stand in order to turn a strong profit. My intention with Breathe is simple.

I believe WHOLEHEARTEDLY in the principles behind this workshop. These principles have changed my business–by substantially focusing and accelerating my growth, influence and overall success. These principles have transformed my family–by helping me to define which home and family elements really matter most to me and giving me the structure and commitment to prioritize them appropriately.

My goal in this intensive is to break these valuable success principles into actionable steps and share them with YOU.

What this workshop is NOT:

You should know, while we will be discussing outsourcing some, this is not simply a lecture on outsourcing.

Outsourcing, while a beautiful piece of the puzzle in many situations, is not the singular magic bullet to profitable business and blissful family life, and quite frankly, it’s just not realistic in every set of circumstances.

This is also not merely a discussion on striking balance. We’re going beyond that toward absolute SYNERGY between family and work life.

If our business life isn’t supporting, empowering and enhancing our core family goals and responsibilities 100%, something’s got to change. Period.

What this workshop IS:

This is very much a lifestyle rework, or a “lifestyle by design” intensive.

We will work together to define exactly what you’re looking for in terms of business and family life and determine exactly how the two can work together to create the very most powerful ends possible. The results here are greater profitability and satisfaction in business and greater order, happiness, purpose and fulfillment at home.

If you’re looking for a lecture, this is not the workshop for you. Breathe will require you to step in and do the hard work (read “smart work”) to get exactly what is you really want (and very often, something even better!). Breathe will require you to get in touch with your core, the deepest parts of the guts that make you who you really are. It will require you to answer some tough questions and face some tough facts. It may require you to change deeply seeded and limiting thought patterns that could be holding you back from living your full potential–as a mother, a wife, and a small business owner who hopes to have success with the Salesforce strategies.

The bottom line.

Do you believe that? Because I sure do. If you’re going to play at the dual roled life of mother and entreperneur, you’d better be ready to bring your A Game. No excuses.

I’m of the mentality that if you’re going to play, play hard. If you’re going to live, live well. If you’re going to work, be awesome. If you’re going to do something, you deserve to figure out how to do it well.

You deserve clarity and success in your business, order and fulfillment in your home, joy and passion in your marriage, and laughter and love with your children.

You deserve to Breathe.

to reserve your seat!

I’m jetting off to the airport to catch a flight to Tampa for the first leg of the Making Things Happen Tour! Wahooo!!  I’ll be blogging every weekday of the tour (that’s the goal) so stick around! You can also catch daily inspiration from the girls and I (Lara, Gina, Emily) over on the Making Things Happen Tumblr. (And if Tumblr makes ZERO sense to you–it didn’t used to make sense to me at ALL–just think of it as a microblogging platform, falling somewhere between a full fledged blog and Twitter. It’s pretty amazing.)

Taking off on this trip is so exciting for me. It is nearly impossible for me to believe that just over 2 months ago, I knew nothing of the Making Things Happen Intensive, nothing of Lara Casey, nothing of Gina Zeidler or Emily Ley, and I’d never eaten Southern grits to boot. It is completely amazing that in such a short time, this intensive has become such a significant part of my life and that Lara, Gina and Emily have become 3 of my very dearest friends the world over. It’s beautiful what wonderful things can come into our lives when we’re out looking for them.

Deciding to register for Making Things Happen Maui was a total fluke. It was a fluke that the intensive ended up on my computer screen to begin with. It was a fluke that I thought, “Sure, I’m going to drop $1,200 to go spend a day on Maui with a women I’ve never even heard of.” It was a fluke that only days later I was on a plane with Richie in tow.

. . . Except that it really wasn’t a fluke at all.

If there is ONE SINGULAR THING in my life that I’m good at, it’s this: I follow my gut. And in this case, my guts led me to Maui, and my decision to follow their lead, changed the course of my life forever. Yes, I really believe that. 100%.

Listen, there are a VERY FEW seats left for this tour (the only tour planned for 2011). Payment plans ARE available. If you’re ready for change, ready for growth, ready for accountability, ready to overcome fear and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN IN YOUR LIFE (in any field of expertise, family, or life in general), it’s not too late to contact Marissa (Marissa{at}laracaseyreps{dot}com) and get.yourself.in.on.this.  You deserve it.

I hope you have a beautiful weekend, and do something very very weekendly.

Me

When you’re on the hunt for absolute magic, it’s hard not to get sidetracked along the way. It’s hard not to settle for FANTASTIC. Because, fantastic, is well. . . FANTASTIC! But I had to keep reminding myself, I wasn’t looking for fantastic, no matter how bright and shiny the lights or how clear and clean the bells and whistles. I was looking for just.right.for.me. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that there is power in patience (though granted this was over and done in under a week) but MOST importantly, there is power in specificity (as evidenced by the fact that this WAS in fact over and done with in under a week).

I had laid it all out there. . . defined exactly what “just right for me” looked like, felt like, smelled like for crying out loud!  And I found her. Erin Jane is just right. For me. For my family. For my business . . . And the beauty of it (which I also specifically laid out in my ad) is that I am just right for her. For her dreams, her ambitions, her remarkable potential! I’m beyond excited to see what we can make happen together, and I’m doubly excited to introduce her to you, now!

Here’s Erin’s application in response to my (again, very lofty and very extraordinarily specific) want ad. Tell me you wouldn’t have hired her on the spot.

Perfect cover page.

Perfect cover letter.

Perfect resumé.

Folks, what do you want for yourself? Your family? Your business? What do you DESERVE for yourself? Your family? Your business? Do you even know?

One of my very favorite concepts of all time was taught to me by Stephen R. Covey (and if you’ve EVER heard me speak, it’s quite likely you’ve heard this before). Summarized: don’t waste your time climbing up the “ladder of success” until you’re sure it’s leaning against the right wall!

You deserve to know what you want and where you’re headed. You.deserve.it.

If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll never feel satisfied by, or comfortable with, your forward momentum. You’ll find yourself constantly revving the engine with one foot while simultaneously slamming on the breaks with the other, and that’s no way to drive. That’s no way to live.

YOU.DESERVE.MORE.

And to Erin I say, welcome to the family girlfriend! Let’s get a move on!

Me

The search is over!

I spent the last week pouring over a billion of the most wonderful applications, resumes and portfolios. I’m a.m.a.z.e.d by how many talented, beautiful, CREATIVE and connected people there are out there! I wish I could hire each and every one of you. Sincerely.

When you post something like my ad, it feels a little reminiscent of throwing a big high school party; you can’t help but be TERRIFIED that no one will show up! When I wrote that ad, I took a real leap. It’s not your typical job posting. Not by any stretch of the imagination. And it was scary. I was afraid people wouldn’t take me seriously or worse, that they’d laugh at me behind my back. But in the end, I didn’t care. I was all in, committed to finding what I need, because I think that I (not to mention my business and my family) deserve it. I hoped that if I was willing to share EXACTLY what I was hoping for, that somehow it would show up at my doorstep.  And guess what? It totally did.

Please know, I am significantly touched and astonished by the number of applications I received. It was truly humbling. In fact, as the applications kept pouring in, I started to have this overwhelming fear that I wasn’t up for this! I wasn’t going to be able to choose, or WORSE I’d make the WRONG decision somehow and have to fire someone a few months down the road! That would be my WORST.NIGHTMARE.EVER. I don’t ever want to have to fire anybody.

I also want you to know that many of your applications literally moved me to tears.  So many answered my ad in kind and simply laid it all out there; to you I say, I could FEEL your hearts, your drive, your commitment, your intense desire to make BIG things happen in your lives. I want that for you too. Keep laying it all out there with this much authenticity, and you won’t be able to avoid falling into the perfect situation for you, no matter how hard you try!

I’ll be making the official announcement and introducing “the new girl” soon. :)

xx!
